Foundation Awards $15,000 Duff Green Jr. Fund Grant to The Dr. Yum Project

Seven grants were made recently from the Duff McDuff Green, Jr. Fund of The Community Foundation totaling $75,573.
The $15,000 grant made to the Dr. Yum Project will pay for mobile healthful food tastings, cooking demonstrations and positive experiences with the Dr. Yum Project's dynamic website. This experiental outreach and education in our community gives families throughout the region the tools they need to take action and reverse childhood obesity.
Other grant recipients include:
Central Rappahannock Regional Library - $18,000 for Library on the Go, Downtown Greens - $7,800 for Blossoming Youth Farm Program, King George County Parks & Recreation - $15,248 for Cedell Brooks, Jr. Park Wetland Observation Deck, Ladies Memorial Association of Fredericksburg - $5,000 for Confederate Cemetery North Wall Repair, Loisann's Hope House - $7,500 for Child Services Program, and Rapahannock CASA - $5,025 for Volunteer and Staff Training.
