In Lieu of Flowers…
May 19, 2018
Flowers are a timeless and beautiful way to share sympathy and admiration when a loved one passes. Often announcements include the phrase in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to... as a way to encourage meaningful charitable gifts. According to Emily Post, its always appropriate to send flowers in addition, “but if you wish to send only one expression of sympathy, follow the family’s wishes and choose the contribution.”
The Community Foundation is Honored to Help
Families who have lost a loved one regularly choose The Community Foundation as the ideal organization to manage gifts that are made in memory.
A memorial contribution is easy to make. Simply click Donate Now on any page of the foundation’s website at cfrrr.org. Select a fund: Community Foundation (Operating Support), The Community Fund (Endowment) or another Fund that is important to you or your loved one. After entering your gift information, check the box to indicate this gift is made in honor or memory. Enter information in this section to identify the honoree and anyone who should be notified of the gift (we do not share the dollar amount given). You may add a personal note in this section, as well.
Arranging for Memorial Gifts
