  To provide much needed mentoring services to community youths (ages 8-12) especially high-risk youth in need of guidance and positive social interactions outside school.

  The primary gal is to teach children how to grieve in a healthy manner, normalize grief, understand death and dying and improve social skill. Activities include hiking, games, groups, arts and crafts and a balloon launch.

  To proved opportunities for teens to learn positive interactions and problem solving through dialogue and activities in a safe and supervised environment.
 
Rappahannock Area Kids on the Block (RAKOB) - Combating Childhood Obesity and Overweight

  Educate children about the relationship between food and physical movement and their effects on weight and health.
 
Rappahannock Council Against Sexual Assault (RCASA) - Teens Against Sexual Assault

$1,000.00

  Project to mobilize high school student to take action against sexual violence in their community. Create a team action group at James Monroe High School and use a train the trainers approach to raise awareness and understanding among a group of high school students who will then receive resources to help them educate others.
 
Rappahannock Council on Domestic Violence (RCDV) - Prevention and Awareness

$1,000.00

  With the assistance of a college intern, RCDV will be working with “Teen Girls Group” and assessing the need for curriculum and educational activity material within the group and researching best tools available for youth education in the area of dating violence awareness and prevention. This project twill purchase new materials for use with the group and high school educational presentations.
