2019 Scholarship Awards!
The Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River Region awarded $149,174 in scholarships to 54 area high school seniors this month.
Generous people and businesses entrust scholarship funds to The Community Foundation. The foundation invests them with a goal to ensure long-term appreciation while meeting charitable needs over time. This means each year, renewed resources are available to support graduating high school seniors. Today, the foundation manages 41 different scholarship funds on behalf of generous individuals and families that want to strengthen the greater Fredericksburg community.
The foundation held its annual scholarship reception at the Fredericksburg Country Club. Kaeser Compressors, Inc. and Tina Jackson Photograpy provide sponsorships to help recognize students and donors. The reception often gives student winners, scholarship fund donors and families their only opportunity to meet in person.
Scholarships are not only an important validation for a successful high school career; they can be a life changing financial resource as well.
I find it almost impossible to put how much this means to me in words, but I hope you find peace knowing you gave a young man one of the best opportunities of his life. And for that I will be forever grateful. Paul Adams
As a first generation incoming college freshman, I am beyond excited to start the next stage of my education. This scholarship will alleviate some financial stressors that come with a four year college education – I cannot thank you enough for this investment in my future. Kendyll Brown
