Introducing the Hilldrup Move-Up Fund
Hilldrup encourages employees to do the right thing, even when no one is watching.
“Supporting the communities that support us is part of our commitment to uncompromised integrity,” says Hilldrup’s Marketing Director, Jordan McDaniel Hinkebein. “It’s an aspect of the company in which we’re proud to take part. We owe our success to the health and prosperity of the people and organizations around us.”
The new Hilldrup Move-Up Fund was inspired when the company’s CEO and President Charles W. McDaniel saw an article in The Free Lance-Star about a family who lost their home because of a run of very bad luck. He and the company had been looking to support a larger cause in the area, one where they could truly make a difference in the community, and this article about the need for housing solutions resonated.
According to Hinkebein, “Hilldrup is more than just a moving company – we understand we are moving people’s lives from one place to another. A move is often just the first of many changes in a person’s life.” Working with The Community Foundation, the Hilldrup Move-Up Fund was created to empower people and families who are in need to hope for and expect better in their lives, starting with a move up.
Hilldrup and the Move-Up Fund are partnering with trusted area housing providers Micah Ministries, Thurman Brisben Homeless Shelter and Loisann’s Hope House to identify those families or individuals who need funding and assistance most.
“We trust and value The Community Foundation’s expertise and will use their input to ensure that our money is going as far as possible to help the most people with the most impact here in the Fredericksburg area.”
Hilldrup has a strong history of giving back, and each of their 10 branches has causes they champion in their communities.
“We’ve been blessed with the opportunity to serve customers locally for over 115 years, and believe it is our duty as a business to give back to our community - whether that’s giving back to our customers, our employees or other citizens.”
