The Women and Girls Fund Appoints New Board
The Women and Girls Fund of The Community Foundation began 10 years ago with a mission to grow women’s leadership and impact in philanthropy.
Six long-time, volunteer leaders have fulfilled their terms of service. We’d like to thank these board members for their devotion, generosity and hard work to make The Women and Girls Fund the success it is today:
- Cathy Wack is one of the Fund founders and was serving as President of The Community Foundation’s Board in 2008 when the Fund was established.
- Mona Albertine launched and led the board as Fund President from 2012 to 2018.
- Cathy Davis, Sue Bridi, Jan Taczak educated, engaged and signed up new members by hosting informative events.
- Ana Chichester (not pictured), Tricia Garner (not pictured) led efforts to guide strategic grant application efforts and to maintain fund history.
At its September meeting, The Women and Girls Fund membership elected 14 new board members. We’d like to welcome these women, pictured below.
Today the fund has more than 350 members, each pledging $1,000. Together, this group is building a permanent fund committed to supporting girls and women throughout our region.

An anonymous donor is offering up to $13,000 to The Women and Girls Fund. She will donate $3,000 toward costs necessary to support Women and Girls Fund events and programs. The remaining $10,000 will match new membership contributions to The Women and Girls Fund endowment.
It takes as little as $200 to get started. Many women choose to make gifts of this size over a five-year period. A one- time payment is welcome, as well.
