A Message from Ben Maxwell, 2021-2022 President of the Board of Governors

Dear Friends of the Foundation,

As The Community Foundation celebrates 25 years of community leadership and philanthropic advocacy, I am honored to serve as President of the Board of Governors. The Community Foundation is the region’s leader in charitable giving, granting over $15 million to regional nonprofits since our founding. Our impact on the region would not be possible without the unwavering and passionate support from donors like you.

This major milestone in the foundation’s history has empowered us to reflect on our past and craft a vision for our future. Over the past year, the foundation has undergone a vigorous strategic planning exercise culminating in a new vision to lead the region in philanthropic giving and boldly address the needs of our community.

Our vision is to be a trusted leader in engaged charitable giving and provide accessible, inclusive and sustainable philanthropy.

Simple and to the point, this vision guides the work of the foundation. Together, our Board of Governors, staff members and volunteers will align their work, this new vision and our strategic priorities to:

  • Deliver resources that are accessible to everyone
  • Drive the foundation’s community leadership and impact through inclusive and equitable practices
  • Ensure a strong organizational future, built from sustainable business practices

Guided by this new vision for the future, The Community Foundation is working to meet the needs of all in our community. I ask that you join us by investing in The Community Foundation. Together, we can have the greatest impact imaginable.

Ben Maxwell
President, Board of Governors
