scholarships

One of The Community Foundation’s strategies for preserving and growing the quality of life in our region is supporting higher education for area students. Generous individuals and families, companies and organizations establish endowed scholarship funds and the proceeds from these funds benefit deserving students. Donors work with foundation staff to determine appropriate criteria for each fund. The Community Foundation currently administers more than forty scholarship funds.
The application for 2021 - 2022 scholarships is currently closed. Applications for 2022 - 2023 will open in December 2022.
Please contact the foundation if you have any questions: scholarships@cfrrr.org, Ashley McNeil at 540 373-9292 ext. 124.

Who May Apply?
Any graduating high school senior planning on attending a college or university may apply. Many scholarships are also open to students pursuing a career, trade or technical education program or certification. Please be aware that each scholarship has unique eligibility requirements. For example, some scholarships are merit based and others are need and merit based. Some focus on student athletes, others support a future field of study - like nursing or business. We encourage you to review our Scholarship FAQs and the specific guidelines for each scholarship fund that interests you. You should also speak with your school guidance counselor about The Community Foundation scholarships that apply to your circumstances.
