Downtown Mile for CASA presented by SigmaCorps Solutions

The Downtown Mile for CASA, an annual one-mile sprint through Downtown Fredericksburg, benefits Rappahannock CASA, a nonprofit that trains caring, committed adults to serve as volunteer personal advocates for children who have been abused or neglected. CASA volunteers meet at least monthly with each child they’re serving, speak regularly with the children’s service providers, and make recommendations to the court about services that could help these vulnerable children heal from their trauma. CASA helps the judges who appoint us to these cases prioritize the needs of the children at the heart of them.
The Downtown Mile for CASA features 4 heats — women ages 15 and up, men ages 15 and up, children ages 6 to 14, and a final Superhero Heat, where participants dress as their favorite heroes and complete the mile in capes and tights! The race is the 9th event in the Coldwell Banker Elite Grand Prix Series, so all finishers receive points toward the 12-race series. T-shirts are guaranteed for all racers who register by September 1, as are capes for kiddos.
