The Beth and Jay Jarrell Endowment Fund for The Friends of the Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail
When the Rappahannock, Fredericksburg & Potomac Chapter of BikeWalk Virginia organization received a generous gift from Beth and Jay Jarrell, it was the ideal opportunity to begin an endowed fund. In February 2007, the Beth and Jay Jarrell Endowment Fund was established to support the endeavors of the Rappahannock, Fredericksburg, & Potomac Chapter of BikeWalk Virginia following these guidelines:
- Support the creation and maintenance of the Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail.
- Promote the use of alternative modes of transportation for commuting, exercise and recreation to include but not be limited to walking, bicycling, canoeing, or equestrian.
- Provide a continuing voice for those pursuits insuring that this region implement the complete streets policy of the Virginia Department of Transportation.
