The Fredericksburg Regional Center for Workforce Education at Germanna Fund
The Fredericksburg Regional Center for Workforce Education at Germanna Fund is a vision from long-time friend of the foundation and generous donor, Mary Jane O’Neill. Collaborating with Dr. Janet Gullickson and Germanna Community College, this fund will inspire a state-of-the-art regional training and education facility for skilled trades students. Creation of this fund paves the way for needs assessments, fundraising and as the initial contribution to the facility.
There are 200 job openings in our service area for skilled automotive technicians, diesel mechanics, electricians, heavy equipment operators, HVAC technicians, and other infrastructure related positions. Donations to this fund support our community to fill the jobs of tomorrow.

A Designated Fund enables a donor to invest in the precise cause or community issues that they care most about.
When you set up a Designated Fund with the foundation, you define its specific charitable purpose, even its beneficiaries, at the fund’s inception. Designated Funds are strongly focused: once you have thoughtfully determined the way you want to structure your fund, grants will be distributed in perpetuity.
The Community Foundation administers the fund without significant change based on the donor's initial instructions. When a grant is made, the foundation monitors how the funds are used to ensure that the use fulfills your charitable goals.
