A Unique Gift

Keith Wampler has been a dedicated leader at PBMares for 40 years, and his hard work and commitment have not gone unnoticed. As an acknowledgement of their appreciation for his leadership, PBMares honored Keith with a generous gift of $100,000 to his favorite charity. His favorite charity? The Community Foundation.

As a founding board member, Keith knows the vision and mission of the foundation. He and his wife Jeannine, have been donors for over 25 years. They have made significant contributions to the foundation, including a $100,000 gift to The Community Fund, an unrestricted fund directed by the Board of Governors. This time, however, Keith and Jeannine decided to take a unique approach to honor Keith's retirement by engaging their children in the act of giving back.

With the recent gift from PBMares, Keith and Jeannine decided to create a Donor Advised Fund. This allows them to involve their children and grandchildren in philanthropy as a family. The Wampler Family Fund will provide a platform for the entire family to come together, discuss and make decisions about charitable giving and actively participate in making a positive impact on their community.

"We believe that philanthropy is not just about writing a check, but also about instilling the values of giving back in our children and grandchildren," says Keith. "We are excited to create this fund as a way to engage our family in philanthropy and continue our legacy of giving."

A donor advised fund provides Keith and Jeannine with flexibility and an opportunity to discuss and engage around various community needs with their family that align with their family's values and interests. It also serves as a tool for educating their children and grandchildren about the importance of philanthropy and community engagement.

"We are thrilled to involve our family in this way," says Jeannine. " We know our children will continue the family tradition of giving back and make a positive impact on the community for generations to come. A family fund at The Community Foundation just made it easier."

The Community Foundation is honored to have the entire Wampler family as supporters of the foundation.
