The Martha Scott Ross Literacy Fund

This grant opportunity opens for new applications on September 12, 2022. Applications will not be accepted after 5:00 PM on October 17, 2022. Outcomes will be announced the week of November 21, 2022. Funds should be used within 10 months from the grant award.
The Martha Scott Ross Literacy Fund was established in August 2022 by Richard Ross and their daughters, Sarah Knoll and Amy Ross as a memorial to a beloved wife and mother, Martha, an educator, and librarian.
Each year, grants will be made to Librarians/Media Specialists in Planning District 16.
Funding will provide opportunities to support students with a broad range of abilities, communities, backgrounds and learning styles. The fund is open to the full spectrum of opportunities in reading, writing, speaking, listening and visual learning.
General Grant Eligibility
- Eligible projects will create age-friendly, safe, and welcoming spaces for multi-cultural student bodies and diverse learners.
- Foster a love of learning in a non-threatening way.
- Incorporate family outreach.
