Regional historic preservation organizations are invited to apply for grants to preserve the documentary history of our area from The Virginia Heritage Fund at The Community Foundation. Examples of eligible organizations are those involved with the collection and preservation of historic local documents and making history more accessible.

One $50,000 grant from The Women and Girls Fund will be open January 8th until February 23rd.
Apply. Nonprofit organizations focused on addressing needs of local women and girls are invited to apply through our website and must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024.

Through a grant from the Duff McDuff Green, Jr. Fund teachers were able to utilize StoryBook Treasures, a teacher created literacy enrichment program. Each of the 180 Park Ridge Elementary kindergarteners in Stafford County last school year received five books, treasures, and materials to foster a love of reading.

Local high school seniors are invited to apply for more than $170,000 in scholarships. Opportunities are available to graduating high school seniors from Caroline, Fredericksburg, King George, Spotsylvania, and Stafford that plan to attend a university, college, vocational school or career technical school. Applications are open now through February 16th, 2024.

At the recommendation of Youth in Philanthropy members, the foundation awarded $10,000 to Rappahannock Emergency Medical Services Council for their 2024 Emergency Preparedness Program.
