FREDERICKSBURG, VA – It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of Zach Hatcher and Chris Kucera, beloved members of our community.

The Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River Region distributed over $200,000 in scholarships to more than 50 local students thanks to our visionary donors.

The Community Foundation’s Women and Girls Fund members voted Tuesday, May 14 at Live Ballot to award their $50,000 grant to Loisann’s Hope House HOPE (Housing, Opportunity, Prevention, Equity) Diversion Program!

Through a grant from The Community Fund Fredericksburg Christian Health Center will be able to continue providing Behavioral Health Interventions. Recognizing the challenges faced by many patients in accessing mental health services, this program integrates behavioral health services into primary care. By streamlining access and reducing financial barriers, it aims to enhance mental health outcomes in the region.

Rappahannock CASA received a grant from the Duff McDuff Green, Jr. Fund of The Community Foundation so teens can access a resource guide and be informed while making those major decisions into their adult lives.

Thanks to a grant from the Duff McDuff Green, Jr. Fund of The Community Foundation, area youth can sing and dance in musical theater camps this summer with Riverside Center for the Performing Arts.

Royster’s nonprofit organization, the Center for African American Genealogical Research, Inc.. received a $6,000 grant from the Duff McDuff Green Jr. Fund of the Community Foundation of the Rappahannock Region to conduct research on the five subjects she identified as abolitionists during the 18th and 19th centuries.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA – The Duff McDuff Green, Jr. Fund of The Community Foundation has awarded $30,126 to 5 regional nonprofits. This funding, grants up to $7,500, supports organizations that are working to promote recreation opportunities in the community, benefit our region’s youth and advance local historic and cultural preservation.

Public safety organizations and initiatives are invited to apply for a grant that promotes the health and wellness of first responders from The John C. Russell Health and Wellness Grant for Public Safety in King George. Examples of possible proposals for funding include; equipment for physical training, safety equipment, PTSD training or mental health and physical wellness programs.
