Good News From Grantees: Liberty Line Update
Royster’s nonprofit organization, the Center for African American Genealogical Research, Inc.. received a $6,000 grant from the Duff McDuff Green Jr. Fund of the Community Foundation of the Rappahannock Region to conduct research on the five subjects she identified as abolitionists during the 18th and 19th centuries.

Apply for a Grant to Benefit First Responders in King George County
Public safety organizations and initiatives are invited to apply for a grant that promotes the health and wellness of first responders from The John C. Russell Health and Wellness Grant for Public Safety in King George. Examples of possible proposals for funding include; equipment for physical training, safety equipment, PTSD training or mental health and physical wellness programs.

Preservation Grant Applications Open Until March 6!
Regional historic preservation organizations are invited to apply for grants to preserve the documentary history of our area from The Virginia Heritage Fund at The Community Foundation. Examples of eligible organizations are those involved with the collection and preservation of historic local documents and making history more accessible.

Women and Girls Fund Grant Applications Open
One $50,000 grant from The Women and Girls Fund will be open January 8th until February 23rd.

Good News From Grantees: Duff McDuff Green, Jr. Fund grants StoryBook Treasures at local elementary school
Through a grant from the Duff McDuff Green, Jr. Fund teachers were able to utilize StoryBook Treasures, a teacher created literacy enrichment program. Each of the 180 Park Ridge Elementary kindergarteners in Stafford County last school year received five books, treasures, and materials to foster a love of reading.

2023 Scholarship Applications Open
Local high school seniors are invited to apply for more than $170,000 in scholarships. Opportunities are available to graduating high school seniors from Caroline, Fredericksburg, King George, Spotsylvania, and Stafford that plan to attend a university, college, vocational school or career technical school. Applications are open now through February 16th, 2024.
